Sight & Sound Theatre Presents a Jaw-Dropping Performance
As a Christian believer, there is nothing more central to my faith than Jesus Christ. Even as a small child I was taught about Him and read about Him and the many things that He said and did while on Earth. Whether it was from my parents, a Sunday School lesson, or my pastor, I had heard about and was familiar with the life of Christ.

As an adult, I am married to a youth pastor and together we have taught our children and many other teenagers through the years of the life and love of Jesus. I have read the accounts in the Bible of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John as they gave first-hand accounts of what they saw and heard Jesus do and say. In my mind’s eye, I have tried many times over to visualize what it must have been like to see Peter walk on water, to see the blind made to see or what it would have been like to be there when Lazarus was raised from the dead.

Immaculate Structure
On our recent trip to Lancaster, we were able to spend an evening at Sight & Sound Theater. From the moment we arrived at the theater we were in awe of this beautiful site. Its location is on a hill overlooking the area.

The theater itself is absolutely stunning with a beautiful water feature with a lion and lamb our front. The grounds are immaculate. We felt as though we were entering a palace as we approached.

As we entered, we were met by a beautiful lobby with high ceilings and gorgeous decor! We have been to other theaters to see Broadway plays and none of those were any nicer than the Sight & Sound Theater. Two years ago, we visited Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson. We knew we HAD to check out the one in Lancaster. To no surprise, it was just as beautiful! Even the bathrooms were clean and beautiful!

Once in the theater, we were quickly greeted by a staff member who showed us where our seats were in the 2,000-auditorium seating venue! Yes, that’s a lot of people but with its stadium-style seating, there is not a bad seat in the house! Add that with its panoramic stage that is 300 feet and tall enough to accommodate stage sets up to 4 stories tall, and you have an amazing view!

Extras at Sight & Sound Theatre
We arrived pretty early (we were a little more than excited to get there). After taking several pictures, we headed over to the gift shop. My daughter found a “Jesus” coloring book that she loves! They have everything from stuffed animals, to toys, to T-shirts, to jewelry and books. There is something for all ages! Everything relates to the presentations they have performed or will be performing which makes it a little more fun to shop.

Before the presentation, my son wanted to grab some glazed almonds. We could smell them as soon as we walked into Sight & Sound. He shared with each of us and we all agreed that they were delicious! Sight & Sound has a full concessions stand offering a lot of gourmet foods and beverages.

Astounding Performance at Sight & Sound
Once the production started, we felt as though we were a part of the story. With their state-of-the-art effects, phenomenal lighting, and all-around presence it put you in the center of the story. There were even actors and animals in the aisles throughout the play bringing the action even closer!
For obvious reasons, I could not take photos or video during the production but I will tell you this. Even if I could have there is NO WAY it could have done this production justice.

From their amazing stage sets and props to the detailed costumes and dress, the awe-inspiring musical scores to the phenomenal job by all the cast, it all combined to bring the story of Jesus to life in a way I have never experienced before.

Throughout the play, there were moments of laughter, tears, and even silence as the audience quietly contemplated what they had just seen.

Whether you are a believer in Christ or looking for a world-class production, Sight & Sound Theater is just the place for you! Just a little tip, since the shows change yearly if you are going to see the life of Jesus you better hurry as it’s the last run will be on October 5th! So get your tickets today and get ready to experience the life of Christ in a whole new way! In the spring, the story of Esther will be in Lancaster.
