Things to Do in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Of all the places I have been, Amish country is right behind our trip to the British Virgin Islands. I am a stickler for non-touristy travel destinations. Watching the Amish in action combined with the beautiful scenery made for a very enjoyable trip. The only regret I have is that we did not schedule more time to visit! We will most definitely go back for another visit! Here are a few of the things we did while we were in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area.

Breakfast and Dinner in a Train Car Restaurant

Train Car Restaurant

Amish country is by far one of the prettiest places I have been. A ride through the country brings a sense of calm with the views of beautiful homesteads complete with old (sometimes rustic) homes, perfectly groomed farmland, and large barns. Watching the Amish working in their fields and riding in their horse and buggies or on their bikes creates an appreciation for all their hard work and sacrifices.

A Must Try Lancaster Restaurant

A Lancaster Restaurant You Must Try

Everyone loves a great meal. The smells and taste of our favorite food can be an amazing indulgence. Having two boys ages 16 and 12, and a husband who loves his meat, we have long since passed the stage where a “happy meal” makes them happy. Many times after a nice sit-down meal, our boys will finish their meal only to follow with “I am still hungry” or just simply snatching a bite or two off their sister’s plate when she is not looking! Because of this great teen phenomenon, sometimes, we willingly sacrifice quality for quantity. We may not have the best-tasting food but at least my guys can get filled up!

Stunning Performance at Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster

Sight & Sound Theatre Presents a Jaw-Dropping Performance

Even as a small child I was taught about Him and read about Him and the many things that He said and did while on Earth. Whether it was from my parents, a Sunday School lesson, or my pastor, I had heard about and was familiar with the life of Christ.
