North Carolina Pumpkin Patch – Gross Farms

It’s that time of the year! Pumpkin Patch, Hayrides, pumpkin pies, corn mazes, camping, jeans, hoodies, and everything FALL! Can I just say, I LOVE Fall!

The colors of fall begin to burst on the scene! The golden yellow of fall flowers, and the bright orange of pumpkins ready for harvest, all under a Carolina blue sky serve to set the perfect backdrop for family fun and lifelong memories! I have found my favorite North Carolina pumpkin patch. Gross Farms serves as the perfect place to experience all things Fall!!

As our family arrived we were immediately met by the friendly staff. We walked through the gates and it felt as if an autumn paradise opened up before us.

Corn Maze

One of the major attractions is the corn maze. With its intricate themed design, it invites the guest to nearly five miles of maze divided into three different trails. Guests can choose which trail they would like to explore depending on the distance they are interested in walking. For the adventurous explorer, you can do all three! 

Adding to the excitement, this year everyone is invited to join the FSI (Farm Scene Investigation) in an attempt to find out what has happened to Farmer Joe. Throughout the mazes, there are stations with clues that guests can mark off a list to help identify who did, where they did it, and what they used! It is really a five-mile life-size game of Clue!

Refreshments

After finding their way out of the maze, guests will find a great selection of food and drinks. From fresh popcorn, hot dogs, or my personal favorite, homemade ice cream! (I highly recommend the pumpkin ice cream).

Activities…

From there, there is a multitude of activities waiting for the little ones!

From a giant sand pile made of sand and tractor tires to a peddle tractor race, to a quick race down an enclosed slide on a piece of burlap, the farm is brewing with fun that will surely bring a huge smile and belly laugh to your kids!

In addition, kids can conquer the high seas as they climb aboard one of the huge wooden ship play sets or show off their “air time” on the huge pumpkin jump!

Hayride

Once the little ones have tuckered out and need to give their legs a little rest, join the staff for the hayride! This 20-minute ride gives you an up-close glance and education of a real working 5th-generation farm! From strawberry patches to corn fields, to the pumpkin patch, see behind the scenes of what life on the farm is really like!

As your day comes to a close, be sure and take a stroll through the pumpkin patch to check out the variety of flowers, gourds, pumpkins, hay bales, and more! Pick a few things out to take a little piece of the “fall magic” home with you!
