Dozen Australia Bucket List Places to Visit Amy Smith, October 6, 2017September 9, 2023 12 Do’s for Down Under – Australia Bucket List Image Source: Freepik For most of my life, Australia has been one of the top places on my Bucket List to visit. Growing up, I loved Koala Bears (and still do). The exotic animals, majestic views, and super fun Australian accents make me want my dream of visiting to become a reality! Like, yesterday! Here is a list of some of the places that are must-dos when I have the chance to go to Australia! Sydney Harbour Bridge What a breathtaking view both looking at the bridge and from on top of the bridge!! The busy bridge is open for rail, vehicles, bikes, and even pedestrians. The beautiful arch-based design is one of Australia’s most photographed landmarks. Sydney Opera House The world-renowned opera house has a gorgeous architectural design. At night, a beautiful light display adds even more beauty. On stage, you will find the best music, dance, and theatre the world has to offer! Bondi Beach One of Australia’s most iconic beaches, the beautiful white sandy beach draws both tourists and locals together. For an even more jaw-dropping view, take a walk on the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. Taronga Zoo Spend the night camping in safari-style tents right in the middle of the zoo! Home to over FOUR THOUSAND animals, Taronga Zoo is a must-do! This 69-acre zoo houses 250 different species of animals. Go to bed with the view of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge Royal Botanic Garden In 1816, a garden was established to house a large collection of plants from Australia, the South Pacific, and all around the world. Today, the Royal Botanic Garden is open to visitors as the oldest botanic garden and scientific institution in all of Australia! Sea Life Sydney Aquarium With more than 700 species and a total of more than 13,000 individual fish and other sea and water creatures, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium allows visitors to learn more about Australia’s native creatures. Manly Sealife Sanctuary Have you ever wanted to dive with sharks? Here is your chance to dive with a colony of Grey Nurse Sharks that range in size from three to nine feet… WITHOUT CAGES! Dive if you dare! You do not even need previous diving experience. During your dive, you will also see sea turtles, massive stingrays, Port Jackson Sharks, Wobbegong Sharks, and a wide variety of other sea creatures. BridgeClimb Sydney 134m above sea level is the best view… so why not take a hike… up a BRIDGE! The Sydney Harbour Bridge at THAT! Do you have what it takes? Tangalooma Island Resort Dolphin Feed Guests staying at the Tangalooma Island Resort have a unique opportunity. Wild bottlenose dolphins swim up to the shore every evening at sunset. Visitors have a chance to hand-feed these playful dolphins. Tangalooma Desert Sand Take a 4×4 bus on a Desert Safari Tour to Moreton Island. The desert area gives tourists another unique opportunity to slide, at high speeds, down the steep sandy hills on masonite boards. Katoomba Scenic Railway A scenic ride to see some of the most stunning views in Australia via the Scenic Railway descends over a thousand feet through a cliff-side tunnel. Take a ride through an ancient rainforest on the steepest passenger railway in the world. A unique feature of the Scenic Railway adventure is that the passengers can decide the position of their seats. If passengers are more thrill seekers, they can choose to ride the “Cliffhanger” on a 64-degree incline! Featherdale Wildlife Park Last but definitely NOT least! Definitely a bucket-list thing for this girl! Drovers Hut Function Centre allows visitors to eat a continental breakfast WITH a Koala bear! How awesome would that be? A zookeeper accompanies the Koala bear to answer any and all questions and inform visitors of all of the facts about the amazing animal.
