A Covid Friendly Vacation Amy Smith, October 20, 2020January 5, 2023 Covid Friendly Vacation Family vacation – a Covid friendly vacation, at that! A time for fun and lots of memories. It was once said that with our children we only have 18 summers with our children before they leave home so make the most of them. If you know anything about us you know we love traveling with our family. The memories have been so sweet but with our kids, many times, our vacations have been packed with entertainment and excitement. That leaves very little trips of rest and relaxation for mom and dad. With all the shutdowns and health concerns with Covid, we still wanted to do something with our kids but also something all of us could enjoy. We knew we couldn’t have a “go-go-go” type of vacation like in years past since there were so many restrictions in place for entertainment venues. To be quite honest, we didn’t need or want a trip that was super on the go. We needed a trip to relax and just enjoy family time while still keeping our kids entertained. We were fortunate enough to find the home at 7441 Excitement Dr. in Kissimmee, Florida… just outside of Orlando. It was the PERFECT solution for our family. Take a minute and watch this video. You will be amazed at this house, just like we were. This 7 bedrooms and 8 bath home has everything you could possibly ask for regardless of the age of your travelers. When you arrive, you are greeted with an open floor main living area with vaulted ceilings. A state of the art stocked kitchen with 2 dishwashers, a gas oven, and many of the essential cookware needed for your favorite meals. While preparing your meal, you won’t have to miss any of the action as the large living room joins it as well. With its comfortable couches, large tv, and surround sound, it is the perfect place to hang out or watch your favorite show…that is IF you stay indoors! The kitchen and living room have HUGE glass doors overlooking a beautiful golf course and the patio. Outside We spent as much time outside as we did inside because this is not just any patio. It features an in-ground pool and hot tub! Our kids were in absolute paradise! It was perfect regardless if it was daytime or nighttime as it is heated and lighted as well. On the covered porch, it features an outdoor kitchen with a sink, a fridge, and a gas grill. The large table was perfect for our lunches and dinners. Early in the morning, we would eat breakfast, turn on the outdoor surround sound and enjoy a day of splashing, music, and memories. Come lunchtime, the kids would eat outdoors and then hop right back into the pool! Oh, and did I mention the large screen tv outside so you can catch the game while enjoying the pool or grilling out? By the way, it is so close to Disney, we were told, that you could see the fireworks at night from the pool! Thanks to Covid, Disney did not do fireworks while we were there but we were able to see the blimp doing overhead coverage as the NBA was playing its season there in Orlando, something our boys thought was pretty neat! Goodnight’s Sleep After a long day, a good night’s sleep was a must. This house was ready for the challenge! With one bedroom on the ground floor, and 6 more upstairs it was ready for a large crowd! Each bedroom had comfortable mattresses, a tv, and a private bath. Some were equipped with a beautiful walk-in shower! The two on the second floor that were on the front of the home had a small patio overlooking the neighborhood. While we were there we got to watch, right from our balcony, one of the space rockets get launched which was pretty neat! The two on the back of the home also had balconies that overlooked the golf course and pool. Our boys each wanted one of these rooms. They are by far the best views in the house but we wanted to make the time extra special for them. They lived like kings for the week! The two “kids” bedrooms were AWESOME! The first was done in a nautical theme. From floor to ceiling you were surrounded by the beach, including Nemo! The bunk beds were even built like a ship! Our daughter loved it! The other bedroom had a castle theme that made you feel as though you were in the middle of a Harry Potter movie. The bottom bunk even closed with a little door for a private hideaway! Indoor Entertainment Of course, Florida is known for its beautiful weather but what happens if one of its afternoon thunderstorms comes through where you can’t play outside? No worries this home has you covered! Upstairs, there is an amazing home theater room! It is equipped with Netflix and a Blu-ray player. Making it even more enticing is that it has 8 leather recliners with stadium-style seating! You will feel like you are in a commercial theater without leaving home. The picture is awesome and the sound is crystal clear! My husband, being the movie guy he is, took our boys in one day to watch the last scenes of Days of Thunder. From downstairs it sounded as though the Daytona 500’ was overhead! We had a family movie night a couple of times including watching “Clueless” on the big screen. But as great as the theater room was, the favorite indoor feature was the game room! This was not just any game room, it was next level. The decor was Star Wars themed which my youngest son loved. It was equipped with something for everyone! Three large screen TVs, two hooked to PlayStation 4’s, and a driving setup to play your favorite racing game against an opponent but without sharing a screen! The middle tv was hooked up to an Xbox 360. The room also featured a pool table. I can’t tell you how many games of pool we played! (Even our seven-year-old played games of pool.) In the corner, there was even a multi-arcade game with bowling, asteroid, and many other classics! There were even hightop tables and chairs for your favorite card or board game. With a Publix around the corner that would deliver groceries, it is easy to see why we literally did not leave the house all week! Not even one time! So whether you are looking for the perfect place for a staycation or amazing accommodations while in the Orlando area, this home is the perfect getaway. You will definitely appreciate all the excitement packed into one home! Book your stay, HERE.
