Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach

It’s that time of year again! The time when the weather starts to get colder, the days get shorter, and everyone starts to get a little bit…well, let’s just say “less cheerful.” For some people, Christmas cheer comes naturally. But for others, it can be hard to muster up those good festive feelings.

If you’re struggling to get into the Christmas spirit this year, here are a few things that might help. First, try decorating your home with some traditional Christmas decorations – a tree, some lights, and some tinsel. Seeing these familiar symbols of the season can help to remind you of all the happy memories you’ve associated with Christmases past.

Another idea is to get started on your Christmas shopping early. There’s nothing like the feeling of happiness and goodwill that comes with giving presents to your loved ones. Finally, why not try listening to some Christmas music or attend a Christmas concert? There’s nothing like a bit of holiday music to put you in a festive mood!

This Christmas season, our family found the perfect way to get started. We discovered a new tradition that we all loved and it really got us into the holiday spirit. Now we can’t imagine starting the Christmas season without it!

Christmas is going to look different for our family this year. I will be having major surgery on Dec 13th and I will be in the hospital for a full week (or possibly longer). For Christmas, I will be home unable to get out of the recliner other than to go to the bathroom. So, we wanted to have a little Christmas getaway to cherish some family time before so many major changes to our daily life. (The recovery time is VERY long).

We were in Myrtle Beach for a beach vacation but my husband saw an advertisement for “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show” at Alabama Theater in Barefoot Landing and he wanted to go.

I had envisioned sun, sand, and waves- not a stage show. But, I was willing to try something new so we went. The show was spectacular! There were lights, costumes, singers, dancers- it was like being transported to a whole other world. And the best part is that it was all indoors so we didn’t have to worry about the heat or the sun. Now, whenever we come to Myrtle Beach, we make sure to catch “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show” at Alabama Theater. It’s become a tradition for us.

After a great supper, we made our way over to the theater. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the sights of Christmas. The main lobby was beautifully adorned for Christmas with the enormous Christmas tree as the centerpiece. Before going to our seats we stopped by for some snacks and of course hot chocolate as well!

Once the show started we were fully immersed in the joys of Christmas. 

The show lasted approximately 2 hours but thanks to the high level of entertainment, it felt as though you had been there no time at all. From terrific choreography to uber-talented musicians, this show was a joy. Did I mention the singing? The artist did a wide variety of contemporary, traditional, and classic Christmas songs. From O Holy Night to the Hot Chocolate song from Polar express there was something for everyone with top-notch vocal performances by all of the singers. 

The Christmas show was great fun for the whole family! In addition to all of the holiday favorites, there were also appearances by Slim Chance (our daughter’s favorite). Slim is an award-winning juggling comedian that certainly put his special spin on the Christmas season! There was even a special guest appearance by Jolly Ole Saint Nick himself! Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience and we’re already looking forward to next year’s show!

The holidays are a special time of year where family and friends come together to celebrate. What better way to celebrate than by going to the Christmas Show at Alabama Theater? The show is full of holiday cheer and is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit. It is also a great way to spend time with loved ones. The theater is beautifully decorated and the performers are top-notch. You will not be disappointed if you go to the Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach at Alabama Theater. It really is the “The Grandest Christmas Show in the South”!
