And that means you need to keep snacks in your car for when your little one gets hungry. But what are the best snacks to keep in your car? Snacks That Can Be Left in a Hot Car Keeping snacks in your car can be a little tricky. Some snacks will not hold up well if you are when the temperatures begin to rise. When thinking about snacks to leave in your car, you need to consider if the snacks will handle warmer, humid temperatures. Fruits are great snacks, but not good ones to leave in a vehicle on warmer days. They will spoil. So, what are some good snacks that are healthier options? All of the following snacks are great to have on hand for when you’re on the go with your kids. And, they can all be left in a hot car without spoiling. Snacks for Cooler Days When you are going to be gone for the day, using a thermal bag or cooler is a good idea. Cooler bags don’t tend to keep well in high heat for longer periods of time. Cooler bags are better to pack for cooler days while well-insulated coolers are best for days when you need to leave perishable foods in your vehicle on hotter days. Some great snack ideas for cooler days that can be packed in a cooler bag or a cooler with ice include apples and other fruit, yogurt, and cheese sticks. These snacks are all healthy and easy to pack. Plus, they won’t spoil if they’re left in the car for a while inside a cooler or cooler bag. Sweet Snacks If you’re looking for something a little more indulgent, you can also keep candy or cookies in your car. Keep in mind that chocolate candies will melt quickly on a spring or summer day. Just be sure to only give these snacks to your child in moderation. And make sure to keep them out of reach so they don’t get into them when you’re not looking. Whatever snacks you choose to keep in your car, always make sure they’re within easy reach so you can grab them when your child gets hungry. Take out the sweet snacks in moderation to avoid a bad sugar rush. You’ll only be making it hard for yourself when the kids suddenly get active but can’t do anything because you’re still on the road. If you’re finding it difficult to choose which sweet treats to indulge your kids with, consider getting a subscription box instead. It comes with an assortment of goods, so your little ones can have plenty of options. Each crate often comes with a theme, so there will be all kinds of candies and desserts, but at the same time, you’ll never really know what to expect. And be sure to pack extra in case you get stranded somewhere or have a long drive ahead of you. With the right snacks on hand, you can make any car ride more enjoyable for everyone involved.
