How To Plan The Perfect Romantic Getaway Amy Smith, January 5, 2024January 8, 2024 How To Plan The Perfect Romantic Getaway Image Source: Freepik Planning a romantic getaway for you and your partner doesn’t need to be complicated or stressful and can be relatively easy. If you follow these simple steps, you will be on your way to the perfect romantic getaway of your dreams in no time. Go in the Off-Season If possible, it is always a better idea to go on holiday during the off-season. Whether you are going to the beach or going skiing, the best time to go is clearly when no one else is thinking of going; that is the off-season. While the weather may not be the best, the off-season is usually much quieter, and you can often find far more deals on hotel and resort stays. You even have a chance of being able to upgrade to better rooms or suites at a fraction of the cost. Choose a Remote Location When you start to plan and pack, pack for a remote location. Get those men’s shoes and sandals, coats, or swimwear, and head to somewhere that is off the beaten track. A romantic getaway should be about getting away from responsibilities and the busy world around you. A popular option in recent years has been to book weekend stays away at one of many Lodges with Hot Tubs in Yorkshire somewhere in the countryside, not only is this quiet and relaxing but offers a relaxation element as well. So consider things like this when booking a trip. Tech Ban Before you even get to your hotel or secluded cabin, you and your partner should agree to a tech ban. Nothing will ruin a romantic getaway quicker than one person spending all of their time on their phone or watching TV. Use this getaway to spend time together, disconnect from your job and the outside world, and simply enjoy being together. Book a Babysitter Early If you have children, book a babysitter as early as possible. The last thing you want is to get to the time of your holiday to find out you have to either cancel because there is no babysitter or you must take your kids with you. Image Source: Freepik Choose a Less Popular Spot If you don’t want to go remote, you can still have a secluded couple of days together in a popular tourist destination. More often than not, tourists will stick to a handful of spots in a particular area; all you have to do is not book your stay there. While this is easier said than done, to make it easier, book a hotel or resort that is on the outskirts of the city or place you want to visit. While you may end up driving more than you want, you will have a much more peaceful stay. Don’t Worry About an Itinerary While some people enjoy “planned fun,” it isn’t the best for a romantic getaway. If anything, you should spend as much time as possible just being with your partner. Whether that is by the pool, on the beach, or during a picnic, don’t worry about how much time you spend “doing nothing” together. Do New Activities Together One way to bond with your partner is to either book or take part in an activity neither of you has done before. This can be something as simple as a hike or horse riding, or maybe wine tasting, or some type of arts and crafts. Many relationship experts believe that doing new things together is a great way to build similar interests and a way to grow closer as a couple. Don’t Miss Sunrises & Sunsets While they are relatively small things, don’t miss out on taking in the sunrises and sunsets while you are on holiday. They are famously both very romantic, and watching the sun rise over breakfast or set while eating dinner is a brilliant way to create a mood. If you want to take it to the next level and you are by the sea, investigate and see if there are any boat or yacht operators that do sunset sails and dinners. Book a Couples Massage Another incredible way to bond is to book a couples massage or a couples spa day. Being able to chat, relax, and eat delicious food all day is a recipe for bonding and connecting on a level you may not have experienced before. Plus, there is often the option to give each other massages, allowing you to take that new connection to another level. Don’t be Afraid to Splurge While this will depend on your budget, if you are going away for two or three nights, don’t be afraid to splurge a bit. This can range from getting a great bottle of champagne to surprising your partner with room service for breakfast. While there is no need to break the bank, don’t stop yourself from enjoying the finer things in life that you usually skip in the “real world.” Image Source: Freepik Don’t forget the Camera Finally, don’t forget to pack a camera. While there should be a tech ban on everything else, a camera is the way to capture all of the best memories from your holiday. Also, don’t get too caught up in taking the perfect photo; candid snapshots are often the best way to capture the moment. There is no need to stress or struggle when planning a perfect romantic getaway if you follow these steps and tips. Not only will it be a holiday you will never forget, but you are also guaranteed to leave feeling more in love than ever before. Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave Life Travel
