How to Delete Temporary Files on Windows

Method 2: Remove Temporary Files from the Settings App

Another option to remove temp files from your device is via the Settings app. Temp files can also be found through the Settings app. Here’s how it can be done.

Step 1: To begin, visit Settings by clicking the Windows symbol in the bottom-left corner of the desktop to enter the Start menu, followed by the gear icon. Alternatively, you may hit Windows + I shortcut keys to open Settings. 

Step 2: The Settings dialog box will appear. Choose the option “System” .

Step 3: In the following screen, choose “Temporary Files” from Windows (C:) group.

Step 4: A list of temporary files recognized by your system will show. Choose the files you wish to remove and then click “Remove Files.”

Method 3: Remove Temp Files Manually

If you want to handle things in traditional format, you may remove the temp files in File Explorer manually. Instead than searching through numerous levels of directories to find the Temp folder, you can take a shortcut. Use the following steps to remove temp files from File Explorer manually. 

Step 1: To begin, Hit Windows+R keys to launch the Run program. In the search bar of the Run dailog box, write %temp% in it and then click “OK” or press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Step 2: This will redirect you to Temp folder. Here, choose the files you wish to remove. By hitting Ctrl+A, you may easily select all the files. Files that have been selected are marked in blue.

Step 3: Now, right-click on the files that you have selected. Click on “Delete” option that is displayed in the context menu.
