Hillbilly Cookout Party Ideas Amy Smith, July 14, 2017March 14, 2024 Great Hillbilly Cookout – Games and Food My husband is a youth pastor so we get involved with all sorts of crazy, fun get togethers with “our teens”. Tonight was nothing short of crazy! A good kind of crazy. Hillbilly style cookout, games, and dress! We told all the teens to come dressed like a hillbilly. The best dressed would get $20. Most all of them got down right hillbilly. Of course, we had a few who didn’t want to dress up. My husband went ALL out. He rocked a mullet with a camo hat, and Bubba teeth. To top it off, he drew on a white shirt a logo that said “Ralph & Lauren’s Polo” with a picture of a horse. Here are a few pictures of us. By the way, black eye shadow works pretty well to blacken your teeth. Don’t we look purdy?! Ha! Hillbilly Themed Food The only way hot dogs could be more hillbilly is if we had cooked them over a fire. We did cheat and use a grill. We had Hillbilly style “Fish and Chips” which were just chips and Goldfish. Hillbilly “Mexican” food was Doritos. DCerts (Desserts) were Twinkies, a falling apart cake, and watermelon! You know you have got to have watermelon for the seed spitting contest later! Hillbilly Themed Games A Hillbilly cookout has to have some hillbilly type of games, especially when you have a bunch of kids or teens. What better than a seed spitting contest with the watermelon seeds. We gave each of the teens three pieces of bubble gum for a bubble blowing contest. Some of them had a really hard time blowing bubbles! Although, the wheelbarrow races probably was by far the best! Yes, we had a few teens fall out of the wheelbarrow but they had a GREAT time. I loved seeing all the smiles. Hopefully, this cookout will be one they remember for a lifetime. Hillbilly Theme Decor The nice thing about it being a hillbilly theme, we didn’t have to do much decorating. We had a few hay bales laying around for an added touch. We also put up signs as they walked up to the pavilion and signs as they exited. Can’t forget the “trampoline”, aka a sheetless mattress. I think everyone had a great time. Hmmmmm… wonder what the next cookout theme will be?! Any suggestions? Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave Articles cookoutHillbilly themepartyredneck themethemed cookout
