About Comedy on Deck Tours Comedy on Deck is a tour company that prides itself on delivering unforgettable experiences to its guests. Founded by a family in Las Vegas, the company has garnered quite a reputation for providing tours with a twist of humor and fun. If you’re looking for something different from your typical sightseeing tours, then Comedy on Deck is just what you need. In 2003, a Comedy on Deck began running tours from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam. They quickly realized that there was a gap in the market for guests who wanted to experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam while also having a fun and funny comedian tour guide. The traditional tour guides were informative, but they lacked the humor and personality that their customers craved. The company decided to take a different approach by hiring comedians as tour guides. The idea was an instant hit with tourists looking for something new and exciting. As expected, guests loved the combination of breathtaking views and non-stop laughter during their tours. It was clear that this unique combination would become an integral part of their business model moving forward. Today, over 15 years later, the company has grown significantly due to word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers. When it comes to tourism, bigger isn’t always better. For one small tour company based in Las Vegas, quality has always been their top priority. While many of the larger tour companies are focused on maximizing profits and filling as many buses as possible, this company prefers to keep things small and personal. Most days they offer just one bus tour to Hoover Dam and one bus tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim. Despite their modest size, this company has managed to make a big impact on the tourism industry in Las Vegas. They’ve taken over half a million people to see the breathtaking sights of the Grand Canyon and over 600,000 people have experienced the majesty of Hoover Dam through their tours. And while these numbers are impressive on their own, they’re made even more remarkable by the fact that every single guest who joins them leaves with nothing but glowing reviews. Pickup Comedy on Deck picks up from various hotels along the Vegas strip. This makes it very convenient for those wanting to experience the Hoover Dam if they flew into Vegas and do not plan to rent a vehicle. Guides/Drivers What sets Comedy on Deck apart from other tour options is that they also have professional comedians as guides. However, safety is still their top priority, so they also provide separate drivers. This setup allows the drivers to concentrate on driving safely and navigating through Vegas traffic while the guides can focus on being entertaining and informative. This way, customers get to experience both a fun and safe trip without any distractions or risks to their safety. Moreover, having a comedian as a guide adds an extra layer of excitement and humor to the tour. The guides use jokes and funny anecdotes about Hoover Dam’s history to keep tourists engaged throughout the journey. It also helps break up any monotony during long drives or waiting periods at different attractions around Hoover Dam. Lunch is provided After a long day exploring the Hoover Dam, nothing beats a hot and freshly made lunch at a sit-down restaurant. That’s where Comedy on Deck comes in, offering delicious meals that are sure to satisfy your hunger. No need to settle for pre-packaged sandwiches when you can indulge in dishes like juicy burgers, enchiladas, or spaghetti. Grab a photo at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign” The Hoover Dam Comedy on Deck Tour is taking the Sin City by storm with its quirky jokes and hilarious punchlines. But that’s not all, folks! The tour now includes a photo stop at the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign.” So, get ready to strike a pose and say cheese! If you’re wondering what’s so special about this sign, let me tell you. This neon-lit landmark has greeted millions of visitors since it was first erected in 1959. It stands tall at 25 feet and features a diamond-shaped design with bold red letters that spell out “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada.” It’s no wonder why tourists flock to this spot for a quick snap or two. Walk the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge and take pictures! Are you tired of the same old tourist hotspots? Looking for a unique photo-op that will make your Instagram followers green with envy? Look no further than the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge! Comedy on Deck has the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge as one of the stops so you are sure to capture those images. This engineering marvel spans over 1,000 feet across the Colorado River and offers breathtaking views of both the dam and the surrounding desert landscape. But it’s not just about the view – walking across this bridge is an experience in itself. You’ll feel like a true adventurer as you step onto its concrete deck, suspended high above the rushing water below. About half way across the bridge, you can experience walking from one state to the next or take a picture standing in both Nevada and Arizona. And let’s talk about those photo opportunities. Whether you’re capturing selfies with your friends or snapping shots of the iconic dam from a new perspective, your camera roll will be filled with enviable images. So grab your walking shoes (and maybe even a selfie stick) and head to Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge for an unforgettable adventure – and some seriously impressive pics! Drive Through Tour of Boulder City As you wind your way through the streets, your comedic guide will regale you with tales about the founding of Boulder City, its role in the construction of Hoover Dam, and even some juicy scandals from yesteryear. You’ll learn all about this community’s colorful past while enjoying stunning views of Lake Mead and the surrounding desert landscape. Planning tips Be sure to remember that Hoover Dam is a federal site. Since it is, they do not allow any knives, guns, or weapons of any sort. You are unable to bring anything other than water inside the facility. Be sure to check out their website for prohibited items. You can always leave food and drinks inside the bus, as Comedy on Deck allows snacks and drinks on the bus. The gift shop and cafe accept credit and debit cards, so you will want to be sure you have a form of payment if you plan to purchase anything. Your tour does not include a snack or drink vouchers inside the Dam, but they do offer cold waters to bring into Hoover Dam. Be sure to grab one before you head in. It is rather hot on top of the bridge so you will want to have free water to bring with you to prevent from paying in the cafe. Other attractions in the Las Vegas area Other outdoor attractions that we enjoyed were Valley of Fire State Park and Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area (my personal favorite). Depending on how far away you wish to drive, we also did the Grand Canyon South Rim (west is closer, and Comedy on Deck also offers tours there with a quick stop at Hoover Dam), Zion National Park, Seligman (the town that Radiator Springs in the movie Cars was based off), Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon (the only one we did not do of the ones I just listed). My Personal Opinion We had such a great time. I was unsure how our daughter (only 10) would enjoy Hoover Dam. She isn’t big on riding in the car and we felt the tour of the Dam itself might be a little over her head. We had already spent so much time in the car visiting National and State parks in the area. The comedian guide entertained her, making the ride there and back seem like a matter of minutes. The tour of the Dam itself was more interesting to her than I expected. The tour inside the dam was right up my 16-year-old’s alley. He is a science and history-loving kid, so he found it captivating. Of course, my husband and I enjoyed the entire thing from start to finish. As mom, I also enjoyed not having to plan another meal during our stay in Vegas. The fact that it included lunch was a win-win for me (oh, and that they let me bring my coffee from the coffee shop along on the ride to Hoover Dam). Conclusion In conclusion, if you’re heading to Hoover Dam, don’t just wing it and hope for the best. Make sure you have the ultimate experience by following our tips and tricks. From booking your tickets in advance to packing snacks and sunscreen, we’ve got you covered.
