Vinegar – White vinegar is great for getting rid of spiders in your home. Vinegar is a repellent when it comes to spiders so it drives them out of your home. Just take a spray bottle and combine 1 part water to 1 part white vinegar. Then, spray the corners, crevices and cracks of your home every day to drive them out and keep them out.

Chestnuts – Chestnuts are very effective when it comes to getting rid of spiders in your house. Just take few chestnuts and place them along the baseboards. The chestnuts will help to ensure that spiders will not enter the house. Chestnuts do not rot very easily so you can keep these out for a long period of time.

Tobacco – Yes, tobacco is an ideal way to drive spiders out of your home. Spiders do not like the smell of tobacco so they will not want to enter your house. Simply sprinkle pieces of tobacco in the areas where you see spiders the most. Or you can fill a spray bottle with water and soak tobacco in it, then spray it in the problem areas.

Citrus peels – Spider do not like the smell of anything with citrus like grapefruit, orange or lemon. Use the leftover peels of one of those citrus fruits and place them in the problem areas where you see spiders often. Be sure that you put fresh citrus peels out every 24 hours to keeps the smell potent.

Essential oils – Another smell that spiders don’t like is the strong odor of some essential oils. It is for this reason that they make a great spider repellent. The most popular essential oil to use is peppermint but you can also use lavender oil, tea tree oil or citrus oil. In a spray bottle, add a squirt of dish soap, 10 drops of essential oil and fill the rest of the way with warm water. Shake well and spray along door cracks, window sills and other opening spiders can enter through.
