Smart Decorating Ideas on a Budget Amy Smith, April 23, 2021January 21, 2022 Smart Decorating Ideas on a Budget I always look for home decor items at thrift stores and flea markets. You will be surprised at what you may find! Living on a budget forces me to re-use and re-purpose items that I already own. Here are a few ideas that may be useful to you. Inexpensive Decorating Ideas This weekend I found 6 largemouth canning jars at a flea market for $2.50. π I brought them home and placed stones in the bottom of each jar. Then, I filled the jars halfway with water and placed floating tea lights in the water. They made the most beautiful centerpieces! Bring the outdoors inside! You can add live plants to rooms in your home to make them more green. Try bringing in a variety of natural elements to add beauty. For instance, in a large glass vase, add pine cones, dried seedpods, or fruit into it. If you need βnewβ furniture, visit places like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other consignment/ thrift stores. Once again, you may find something that you absolutely adore. I found an old farm table with 6 chairs at another flea market this past weekend. I want it so badly! First, I need to determine what I will do with the table I have! Is there a lot of stuff just lying around your home? Use wicker baskets or wooden crates to store items in – instead of buying plastic containers. This will give you the storage you need and allow you to add beauty to your decor without breaking the bank! Connect with My Four and More on Social Media! I love the idea of the jars with the floating tea lights. I use canning jars a lot for decorating. I have one that I use for a vase when my hubby buys me flowers. I don’t get them often because I have pretty bad allergies. I also like to add some ‘green’ to my home but like I said, I have to be careful with flowers and plants because of my allergies. So I opted for some herbs. I bought a mint plant and a cilantro plant. Those don’t seem to bother me too much and not only do I have living plants in the house that way, but I also have things we can cook with! Thanks for these great budget decorating ideas!!!
