Rainy Day Games From Goliath Games Amy Smith, February 27, 2018January 28, 2022 Six Rainy Day Games Springtime brings some absolutely gorgeous days that you can’t help but stay outside from sun up to sun down. Spring also comes with many rainy days. Having a plan for keeping your little ones occupied BEFORE the rain comes, makes even a rainy day enjoyable. Here are six rainy day games to consider adding to your game closet! Doggie Doo Ages 4 and up 2-4 players Why is it that kids think “bathroom talk” is hilarious?! I am not sure but I do know that most little kids think it is funny. If you are looking for a game that will bring a lot of giggles, Doggie Doo is one for you! Feed your doggie, squeeze the leash, and after he makes his gassy sounds – plop! If you are the player who cleaned up the doo, you get a fart token. The player who has the most tokens at the end of the game wins! Catch the Fox Ages 4 and up 2-4 players It is time to catch the fox. He has been busy stealing all the chickens by stuffing them in his pockets. Before long, the fox’s pants will fall down and chickens will go everywhere. Each player takes turns rolling the die. Depending on the number they roll determines the number of chickens the player must add to the fox’s pants and then push the fox’s head to complete their turn. When the fox’s pants get too heavy, WATCH OUT! His pants will soon fall down and chickens will go everywhere! Everyone grabs as many chickens as they can to place in their coop. The first person to fill their chicken coop wins! Shark Bite Game Ages 4 and up 2-4 players My daughter LOVES the anticipation of this game. Working her fine motor skills and gaining some serious hand-eye coordination, she “goes fishing”. As we fish, the shark is ready to attack at any point. You never know when the shark is going to bite! I love watching the anticipation followed by many uncontrollable giggles when the shark finally gets her. Giggle Wiggle Ages 4 and up 2-4 players Giggle Wiggle likes to dance. As players are trying to place the marbles on his many hands, Giggle Wiggle is busy wiggling to the music. Considering marbles roll, the shaking of Giggle Wiggle is sure to send your marbles rolling off his hands. Players have to keep picking the marbles up and racing to get all their marbles on Giggle Wiggle’s hands before they roll off. Jumping Jack Ages 4 and up 2-4 players This is another one of those games that creates a whole lot of excitement and anticipation. I love how it isn’t just a game… it is an activity. My kids become more active when playing games like this one where they can be on the move. Players spin the spinner to see how many carrots they need to pick from the bunny hill. Be prepared when you pull out the carrots, you never know which carrot will send Jumping Jack flying. To win, you have to catch him! Let’s Go Fishin’ Ages 4 and up 1-4 players Of course, going back to a classic game is always a win-win. The Let’s Go Fishin’ Game has been a game that I played as a child and then played with my 15-year-old. Now, I am playing it again with my four-year-old. It incorporates all the fine motor movements that a child needs. Who can catch the most fish?! All of these games sound like so much fun, and perfect for my three littles (ages 8, 5, and 3) to play together! I remember Let’s Go Fishin’ from when I was a kid. 🙂 We have game night every week, so I am definitely going to invest in these games. Thanks for sharing!
