The Struggle of Motion Sickness
What You Can Do About Motion Sickness
What do you think of when you hear the words “motion sickness”? Do you think of that kid on the school bus? Maybe you think back to a brother or sister on every long trip you took. Some of you, hearing the words “motion sickness” just put a knot in your stomach. Terrible memories just replayed in your mind! I would be one of those!
The Story of My Life…
As a child, we would drive about thirty minutes to my grandparent’s house almost every Sunday after church. It seemed as if every time we would get there, I had to lay down because of how sick I had become from the car ride. Even though it was such a short drive, to me, the drive seemed to be never-ending.
I cannot even begin to tell you about how bad I would feel on long trips. My parents would have to drug me up on Dramamine for the entire trip to keep me from getting “sick” in the car. I was the kid who always had a trash bag or bowl sitting next to me on long rides. Some of you, feel my pain and others feel the pain of my parents.
Now that I am an adult who can drive, I do not get nearly as car sick as I did as a child. A lot of times I boot my husband out of the driver’s seat, simply because I don’t want to deal with motion sickness.
Ahh, motion sickness medicine. If you struggle with car sickness you also get my pure disgust for that stuff! I absolutely hate the groggy feeling that I get when I take the medicine. Regardless if it is a “non-drowsy” formula, I still feel miserable! Vacations are supposed to be fun. The sites that can be seen while driving makes the trip extra special. Sleeping through the beautiful views is NOT COOL!
So you have to make the choice…. feel really nauseous or be so “drugged up” that you can’t keep your eyes open. What a choice?! But wait!! There is now another choice. Have you heard about the Reliefband?
What is Reliefband?
The Reliefband uses pulses on a nerve in your wrist to treat nausea naturally.
Reliefband is clinically proven, FDA cleared wearable technology for the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness and VR Gaming.
How the Reliefband Works
After placing the gel on your wrist, the band is ready to be placed on your wrist between the two tendons on the underside of the wrist. This specific spot targets the median nerve at the P6 pressure point.
Next, you select which intensity feels most comfortable. You will feel a tingling pulse in the palm of your hand all the way up your finger. The pulses are gentle (and not painful) but you DO feel them. You feel the pulse but even more so, within a matter of a few minutes, nausea will go away or at least lessen!
These pulses signal the “nausea control center” of the brain. There the signals modulate the neural pathways between the brain and the stomach, via the vagus nerve, restoring normal gastric rhythm and relieving nausea.
The Reliefband uses a clinically proven technology called neuromodulation to treat motion sickness. Even hospitals use the same type of technology to treat nausea naturally.
When you deal with motion sickness often, you become fairly skeptical about “miracle cures”. The Reliefband is comfortable to wear, pain-free, and really works! I haven’t had nausea from motion sickness but I had been dealing with an upset stomach for a few days. The Reliefband has kept me from having to take any medicine!
My son also deals with a lot of belly aches. He is 10 and has no problem wearing the band! The Reliefband can fit a wide range of sized wrists including my 60-pound son! If you deal with nausea often, make sure you check out Reliefband HERE!
