Individual Games to Challenge Your Mind

Have you ever had “one of those days”? A day when the house feels like total chaos and you just need some time to re-group. Tonight was “one of those nights” at our house. Finding something for all the kids to do quietly and independently was a must to keep my sanity. ThinkFun Games will give your children something to do independently while engaging their minds.

Roller Coaster Challenge

Do you love roller coasters? For all the roller coaster junkies or even the wannabe roller coaster junkies, what if I said you can build your own amusement park in your living room? When we go to a theme park, I hear my kids come up with all sorts of new roller coaster inventions. The “What if’s” are grand in Amazon’s Top 25 List game of Roller Coaster Challenge.

Engineering challenges that help players understand physics and logic concepts – all while watching a coaster glide down the track, complete with dips, curves, and loops!

My son has absolutely loved playing this game while he has been home sick this week. Since our other children have been in school, he would get rather bored at home. I was glad he had something to do that didn’t involve staring at a screen!

Color Cube Sudoku

Play a challenging game of Sudoku using color cubes instead of numbers. You will have nine color cubes to place into a 3×3 tray. The goal of the game is to place all the cubes without doubling the same color within the same row. It is harder than it looks.

Once you have mastered the game, challenge yourself to the next level in the Bonus Challenges. This is a great way to keep your mind focused and challenged. Strategy games can be an excellent way to keep your mind young!

Rover Control

Do you or your kids have a love for science? If so, this is truly the game for them. Rover Control combines space, coding, programming, and critical thinking all into one game.

Each of the 40 Rover Control challenges contains a map. The trouble is, the pathways on the map are colorless and the Rover is programmed to only travel on colored pathways. You’ll need to figure out how to color the pathways so the Rover can complete its mission.
