Homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs bring so many memories to our family. For years, my husband’s aunt would make and sell homemade chocolate eggs. While I can not decorate them as beautifully as she did, one bite of these delicious homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs brings back all the feels for my husband. Wilton sent a box full of Easter-related goodies for me to try out. Homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs were first on my list to attempt. I can’t have sugary treats but my husband and children gave them a thumbs up. My daughter loved the tie-dye twist to the eggs. They were so fun to make, too. To create the tie-dye look, simply heat your Wilton candies in individual bowls. Spoon a little of each color into the Wilton candy molds and then tip the mold in a circular motion to allow the melted chocolate to cover the entire egg-shaped mold. Stick the mold in the freezer for a couple of minutes until it is frosty-looking. Once it is hardened, take the mold back out and brush the inside of the mold with another layer of any color chocolates. Put the mold back in the freezer. While your chocolate molds are hardening in the freezer, begin making your peanut butter filling by using an electric mixer or food processor to incorporate the following ingredients: 16-ounce box of confectioners sugar 1 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter 2 tablespoons milk (if needed for moisture) Next, remove the chocolate from the molds and fill the half-eggs with the peanut butter mixture just below the top of the mold (otherwise it will not be easy to connect the egg halves). Once the egg halves are pieced together, use more melted chocolate to seal the eggs using a piping bag and tip of your choice. While the chocolate is still melted, you can add some fun sprinkles such as the Wilton Bright Pastel Rainbow Easter Egg and Jimmies Sprinkle Mix. Add these homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs to your child’s Easter basket, give as a gift to a friend or simply enjoy them all for yourself!
