Giving Time and Adventure Gifts Amy Smith, December 27, 2017June 24, 2019 Giving Time and Adventure Gifts Bring You Closer Giving someone your time is the biggest compliment, the best way to bond and is, by far, the most desired after gift. This year, my husband and I decided to give our children the gift of time and adventure. Over the next few months, we have six specific places we will be going to spend quality time as a family! I can NOT wait!! In this video below, you will get a true taste of each of my children’s personalities. From my “cool teen” to my excitable 10-year-old all the way down to my giggly, and very girly four-year-old. We made the “gift giving” adventurous, just like the gifts themselves. To add more fun, as well as, more memorable times, we included some close family and friends to help us in the gifting experience. I believe that everyone involved had a great time but the most important thing was that it gave my children quality time with not just my husband and I but also with their siblings AND time with all the special people we had helping us! My son takes a little time to explain what we did tonight at the beginning of the video. Basically, we asked a few friends and family members to think of their own challenges that they wanted our kids to do. My husband gave the kids a clue and they had to figure out who they needed to call. Once they called or FaceTimed the right person, they were then given the challenge to do. After completing the challenge, they were able to open up one of the doors which lead to finding a box telling them about one of the six adventures we are taking as a family over the next couple months. Time is so precious. Shewing children away because you are too busy or spending time zoning out in front of the TV is NOT what builds your relationship. I am totally guilty but am trying to change that! One day, they will be grown. Your children (and mine) will be out of the house. The love, dedication, and the TIME you put into your relationship now will determine what kind of relationship you will have with them after they have moved out. Soak up the moments the best you can. Show your kiddos that time really is the best gift! Adding adventure is the icing on the cake! The six places that we are going to spend family time at include: Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Florida) Legoland Hotel, Park, and Waterpark (Florida) iFly Indoor Skydiving (Florida) Carowinds (North Carolina/South Carolina Border) Medieval Times (Florida) Marvel Universe Live (North Carolina) We will be sharing our adventures with you all but for now, I will leave you with the enjoyment of watching us “gifting time and adventure” with our children! What a great idea. I’ve been to some homes that are huge, and there are a large number of family members giving a boatload of toys (some giant size) to a couple of pint sized kids. They hardly can take it all in, all those gifts. But you bet they will remember and be excited to tell you over and over how much fun they had on an adventure! These six trips sound so wonderful!
I think these are wonderful gift ideas. Nothing like great family time. Thank you so much for sharing this. God Bless
