Family Movie – Playing With Fire

Sometimes, a family movie night is what the doctor orders. We had dealt with quite a bit of sickness over the last two weeks. We had several night’s of laying on the couch watching everyone’s favorite shows. Problem is, we have a wide range of ages in our home which also means we have a wide range of likes and dislikes. So, most of the week, we just “dealt with what the other person picked to watch” and took turns picking. We had received the movie, “Playing With Fire” as a review. Thankfully, it was a movie my oldest (17) had been anxious to see but it was entertaining enough and clean for even my 6 year old. We were all able to enjoy the movie!

Our family was put together through adoption, some from birth and one through foster care. We have also fostered nine children over the years. Some of our family’s favorite movies have been ones that deal with adoption and fostering. You know, ones that we can relate to. Sometimes, the movies are dead on with showing the inside of fostering (the challenges and perks), other times… they are just heartwarming movies that leave out some of the craziness that fostering brings. Playing With Fire was a mix of funny and heartwarming. I won’t spoil the movie but especially if you have ever fostered children, you must see this movie!

About Playing With Fire

When firefighter Jake Carson (John Cena) and his team (Keegan-Michael Key & John Leguizamo) rescue three siblings in the path of a wildfire, they quickly realize that no amount of training could have prepared them for their most challenging job yet – babysitting. While trying to locate the children’s parents, the firefighters have their lives, jobs and even their fire station turned upside down and learn that kids – much like fires – are wild and full of surprises.
