Encouraging My Children to Fly High in Life at iFly Indoor Skydiving Amy Smith, March 21, 2018September 17, 2023 Fly High at iFly Indoor Skydiving! As a parent, we try teaching our children to fly high in life regardless of the fears they face. Sometimes, in order to fly high in the game of life, we have to truly face our deepest fears. My daughter faced one of her fears at iFly in Orlando, Florida over spring break this past week! Make sure you keep reading and have the chance to watch my sweet girl fly past her fears! It really is the cutest thing!! As intimidating as the iFly experience may look to a four-year-old (or even a 37-year-old), my daughter and I BOTH found that it was more than just amusing to watch, it was thrilling to participate in! My daughter still held on for dear life but is already asking if we can go fly again! About iFly iFly is an indoor skydiving location that offers a flying experience for children and adults, ages three and up. iFly also uses their wind tunnels to help train prior to true skydiving maneuvers. iFLY is the experiential entertainment company that created modern indoor skydiving…we make the dream of flight a reality by giving our customers “wings” in a safe and reliable environment. Today, iFLY has 37 locations around the world in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia, and the list continues to grow. Our Experience at iFly Orlando What a thrill!!! Seriously, I would not be caught dead skydiving out of an airplane. I am terrified of heights and free falling experiences. iFly gives me the experience of flying without having to go up 12,000 feet in an airplane! I had an absolute BLAST at iFLY Orlando! We were at iFly for about two hours from start to finish. It worked PERFECT for us because we went on a colder, rainy morning. I loved having an indoor activity so that we were not stuck sitting in a hotel room, waiting for the storm to pass. As I mentioned earlier, my daughter had been telling us (from the moment we told her where we were going) that she would NOT fly! She had watched her dad and brothers fly last summer on a vacation to Gatlinburg, TN. She didn’t want anything to do with flying. A trigger went off once we arrived at iFly. She was crazy excited about flying all of the sudden. It helped that our instructor was GREAT with kids! Kudos to Benji at iFly Orlando! Don’t let the arm clamp fool you, she really had a great time! You can see the smile on her face!! Our boys opted in for the high fly experience. For about 30 seconds, they flew with the instructor from the top to the bottom of the wind tunnel. Make sure you check out the video below which shows my boys enjoying the high fly experience! I would highly recommend it. My boys were stoked that they were able to experience that intense adrenaline rush! As you will see in this video, all three of our children kept their mouths shut throughout the flight. It was not out of fear but instead due to the 100 plus MPH winds blowing into their mouth. That does not feel normal. It doesn’t hurt at all but it just feels strange so they kept their mouths shut. My 10-year-old son had a really hard time deciding what his number one favorite thing was that we did over spring break. We did a LOT. iFly was what he picked as his number one favorite thing. He looks terrified in these pictures but I assure you he was not scared at all. It is simply from the wind that they have such serious looking faces. Enjoy the video! iFly Orlando indoor skydiving is an experience you will never forget! Make sure you check them out next time you are in Central Florida! My kids would LOVE this. I searched under locations and we don’t have one here in Michigan. The closest one is in Chicago and we’ll be going there on vacation during the summer so definitely a must try!
