Of all the places I have been, Amish country is right behind our trip to the British Virgin Islands. I am a stickler for non-touristy travel destinations. Watching the Amish in action combined with the beautiful scenery made for a very enjoyable trip. The only regret I have is that we did not schedule more time to visit! We will most definitely go back for another visit! Here are a few of the things we did while we were in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area.
Amish country is by far one of the prettiest places I have been. A ride through the country brings a sense of calm with the views of beautiful homesteads complete with old (sometimes rustic) homes, perfectly groomed farmland, and large barns. Watching the Amish working in their fields and riding in their horse and buggies or on their bikes creates an appreciation for all their hard work and sacrifices.
Philadelphia is the home to history, detailed architecture, and a plethora of things to see and do. A day in Philadelphia is not nearly enough time to explore the whole city. What if you only had 24 hours? Here is what we did in a little under 24 hours in Philadelphia.
Before my children were even born, I had made the decision that I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I knew there was a big sacrifice I would be making by quitting my job. Bills would be harder to pay which would mean we would need to make choices to stick with generic brands, eat more meals at home, and try cutting any and all corners we could to make it work. The benefits of staying at home with my babies were far greater of a blessing than money could ever be! Now, it is time for this mama to go from being a stay a home mom back to work, working a public job.
